| Bio: | Ok, I've been practically everywhere, but have lived somewhere in California all my life (most recently, I moved from Orange County to Sacramento). I'm currently getting my credential to teach high school history, and in the mean time I substitute teach. I've had my 15 minutes of fame, I won money on Win Ben Stein's Money. It was endlessly fun. I have failed in my attempts to take over the world with the seed money this provided, however.
If I had to pick a personal quote right now, it would be "Happiness is the full use of one's powers in a life affording them scope." Aristotle, that is. And while I'd hardly be dogmatic about that as the best view of happiness, it does seem to be particularly resonant for me at this point in my life. I'm finally growing into something approaching who I think I'm supposed to be. Not as a static form, but as an active seeker. And, at long last, I think I'm becoming happy.
Oh, and a quote I just discovered that I really love: "Fear death, for when you're dead, you cannot then eat eels." Philetaerus, 4th cent. B. C. How can I possibly top that for a philosophy?
